The play guide
How to play Sudoku Fun
Sudoku Fun is about what cannot fit as much as what can. The described Fast mode uses a 6-by-6 board with 2-by-3 boxes and the numbers 1 through 6. Other modes may use a different grid, so read the board and number panel before applying those dimensions.
Your goal
Complete the grid with no repeated number in any row, column or box.
Controls
Select an empty cell, then select a number on the panel. Use Pencil for candidate notes and Clear to remove an entry.
Your first round
- Choose a mode and identify the numbers required by its grid.
- Select a cell and rule out numbers already present in its row, column and box.
- Enter a confirmed answer or use Pencil to record candidates, then update nearby candidates after each solved cell.
This guide is based on the supplied game instructions.
Tips for your next attempt
- Begin with a nearly complete row, column or box where few candidates remain.
- Check all three constraints before confirming a number; fitting the row alone is not enough.
- Keep uncertain candidates in Pencil mode because the game counts incorrect committed entries.
Watch out for
- Applying the familiar 1-to-9 rule to the smaller Fast board gives the wrong set of candidates.
- Old pencil notes can become misleading after neighboring cells have been filled.
