The play guide
How to play Classic Solitaire
Classic Solitaire follows Klondike rules. The tableau builds downward in alternating colors, while the foundations build upward within one suit. Those opposite directions create the planning task: rearrange the columns to expose cards without losing the support needed for later moves.
Your goal
Move the full deck onto the four foundations, each from Ace through King in a single suit.
Controls
Tap a card for an available legal move, or drag a card or ordered stack to a column or foundation. Tap the stock to draw.
Your first round
- Find legal descending, alternating-color moves among the tableau columns.
- Move an ordered face-up sequence when it helps expose a hidden card.
- Start foundations with Aces and add the next card of the same suit.
- Draw from the stock when the tableau offers no useful move and reserve empty columns for Kings.
This guide is based on the supplied game instructions.
Tips for your next attempt
- Look for a move that reveals a face-down card before drawing from the stock.
- Before emptying a column, identify the King or King-led stack that can use it.
- Check rank and color together when moving a sequence between columns.
Watch out for
- A descending pair is not legal in the tableau if both cards have the same color.
- An empty column cannot accept an arbitrary card; it needs a King or King-led sequence.
